Oli Natura Linseed Oil Varnish – Application Instructions

  • ✓ The surface must be finely sanded and free of dust and grease.
  • ✓ Shake the container well or stir thoroughly before use.
  • ✓ Apply the oil thinly and evenly with a brush or a lint-free cotton cloth, following the direction of the grain. Dry spots can be re-oiled directly as needed.
  • ✓ Within 30 minutes, excess oil should be removed with an oil-absorbing cloth or cotton cloth and the surface carefully buffed. It should then feel dry to the touch.
  • ✓ After a drying time of 16 to 24 hours, a further coat can be applied if needed.
Important note: Linseed oil varnish that has not been absorbed forms wet, glossy residue after about 30 minutes. This excess must be removed while still wet, otherwise it will dry significantly more slowly, stay tacky for a long time, and cause unwanted differences in sheen.
