OLI-NATURA Skogen-Oil is the answer for those who want to avoid the unwanted yellowing in light woods while gently enhancing the wood.

"Skogen", Swedish for "forest", is an environmentally friendly VOC-free, Scandinavian light wood oil, free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It provides healthy indoor air quality and effective protection for furniture, doors, stairs, as well as wall and ceiling panels made of light Nordic deciduous and coniferous woods.

Pro Tip: To further increase durability, Skogen-Oil can optionally be mixed in a ratio of 10:1 with OLI-NATURA HS Hardener.

DRYING: Depending on humidity and temperature, the surface is: Dust-dry after 1-2 hours, fully cured after 3-5 days.

STORAGE: Shelf life of at least 24 months when unopened in the original container. Protect from frost.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE OF THE SURFACE: With OLI-NATURA Wood Soap, OLI-NATURA Refresher.

Consumption: 2 coats, depending on the wood species and absorbency of the substrate, approximately 40–60 g/m² per coat (15–25 m²/l).

  1. PREPARATION: Sand the wood surface properly. Final sanding for furniture with grit 240. The wood moisture content should be between 8-12%. The substrate must be firm, dry, clean, grippy, load-bearing, and free of release agents. Process material at room temperature.
OPTIONAL STEPS: For tannin-rich woods like oak, soak before oiling. For higher stress, optionally add OLI-NATURA HS Hardener in a ratio of 10:1. The mixture is workable for 3 hours.

APPLICATION:
  • Shake: Shake/stir the container well.
  • (Optional) for 2K processing: Thoroughly mix 10 parts oil with 1 part hardener.
  • Application: Apply oil evenly with a brush, flat brush, or foam roller in the direction of the grain. Oil dry areas again.
  • Reaction time: Allow the oil to react for at least 2 hours until the surface is completely dry.
  • Intermediate sanding: Lightly sand the dry surface in the direction of the grain with grit P220-P280 to cut down raised wood fibers. Then carefully remove dust.
  • Additional application: Repeat the oil application as described in step 3.
  • Polishing: Immediately polish the wet oil residue-free with a white or beige pad by hand or eccentric sander. Remove any excess oil with an oil-absorbent cloth. The surface should feel dry to the touch!

CONSUMPTION: 2 coats, depending on the wood species and absorbency of the substrate, approximately 40–60 g/m² per coat (15–25 m²/l).

DRYING: Depending on humidity and temperature, the surface is: Dust-dry after 1-2 hours, fully cured after 3-5 days. Protect from water during this time, do not clean when moist, and handle with care. Drying is extended at low temperatures and high humidity.

STORAGE & CLEANING: Shelf life of at least 24 months when unopened in the original container. Protect from frost. Cleaning: Clean brushes and tools immediately after use with water.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE OF THE SURFACE: With OLI-NATURA Wood Soap, OLI-NATURA Refresher (maintenance oil).



TIP / NOTES:
  • Soaking the wood before oiling with an addition of OLI-NATURA Outdoor Cleaner helps neutralize tannic acid in the wood. This prevents water stains and ensures optimal oil absorption.
  • It is advisable to perform a fine hand sanding before the second oil application. Due to the water content in the oil, wood fibers can stand up.
  • No risk of self-ignition from oil-soaked cloths or pads.
